Billy Meier 1959 UFO Photograph
In the 36th edition of the 4-page broadsheet newspaper format German publication ufo-nachrichten an image of a photograph was presented in the lower-left corner of the front page.
Details of the circumstances around the taking of the photograph were provided above and below the image. Here is an English translation:
Mr Eduard Meier UFO-IFO Group 309 Uitikon ZH/Switzerland has provided us with a photograph of a "Five-V-Formation" of UFOs. It was taken on 6 June 1959, at 2.30. The duration of the sighting was one and a half minutes. Altitude was 1,300 to 1,700 metres, velocity about 650 km/hr. The flight was silent. The objects appeared to be a pale orange colour. Our UFO-Friend gives us this description: "As if these objects knew that I wanted to capture them on film, they stood still, as it were in mid-flight, just suddenly hanging in the air. Of course, at that point, I was quick to reach for my camera, which I have always at the ready."
Looking for any information about this photograph on-line, I could find nothing. I presume that the photographer is 'Eduard Albert Meier, commonly nicknamed "Billy"...' as Wikipedia refers to him. A man, who they further report: '..claims his extraterrestrial encounters began in 1942, at the age of five, when he met an elderly Plejaren man named "Sfath". After Sfath's death in 1953, Meier said, he began communicating with an extraterrestrial woman.. called "Asket". All contacts ceased in 1964, he said...' (His E.T contacts (allegedly) resumed years later)
The earliest Billy Meier UFO photographs that a not particularly lengthy search brought up were from 1964, in India. The earliest-dated one of those, on the Future of Mankind Photo Gallery was of 'Eight unknown bullet shaped illuminating UFOs over New Delhi, India, 19th May 1964'.
Not having seen any of the independently published books dealing with the Billy Meier 'case', I don't know whether or not one or more of them include any information about the 1959 photograph, or if other information has been published about any UFO photographs taken by him before May 19th 1964.
However, aside from that factor in presenting this information now, I found it interesting that a similar image of a V-Formation of five lights or objects had been previously published by ufo-nachrichten in their 10th published edition of July 1957 - that is 2 years and 1 month earlier. If Eduard 'Billy' Meier had seen that edition, he would presumably have noted in the upper-right corner of the third page the image of the photograph, credited to a Mr. A. Komaki. The five supposedly illuminated objects witnessed by many and captured on film by this one man, were silent, as in the later Meier report and with respect to colour they were described as 'yellow-orange bright lights'. So, this V-Formation, photographed in Japan, in 1957, seems quite similar to the one photographed by Meier two years later, in Switzerland.
