'Move It' (b/w 'Schoolboy Crush') was released on Columbia Records in Britain, and reached number 2 in the U.K. charts. Cliff Richard continued to record for the Columbia label through to the 1970s.

JULY 21ST 1960
First Single Release by Rolf Harris 

'Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport' was issued by Columbia Records in Britain, and made number 9 in the U.K. charts. Rolf Harris continued to record for the Columbia label through to the 1970s.  

APRIL 3RD 1966
Eleventh Annual Record Star Show at Empire Pool, Wembley

Cliff Richard (with The Shadows) and Rolf Harris (with The Tony Hatch Group) were among the acts that appeared at this event, which was promoted by Daily Express in aid of Stars Organisation for Spastics and comprised two live shows, at 2pm and 6.30pm... One week later, BBC1 broadcast 50 minutes of highlights, under the title 'SOS The Record Star Show'.

MARCH 30TH 1968
The Rolf Harris Show; BBC1 / 7.50pm

Series of The Rolf Harris Show ran on the BBC between January 1967 and October 1972. The closing feature of this 45 minute long 1968 edition was Rolf Harris singing 'Congratulations' accompanied by the Young Generation dancers. 'Congratulations' had been chosen to be the song Cliff Richard would sing in the Eurovision Song Contest, due to be broadcast on the same BBC TV channel a week later. At the end of his own performance of the song, Rolf Harris wished Cliff Richard "good luck".

Radio Northwick Park, the hospital broadcasting service celebrated its first birthday. 'During the season at the London Palladium Cliff was taken ill and Rolf Harris stood in for him on three nights. Poor Cliff was suffering from bronchitis, laryngitis and pharyngitis. Fans who had tickets to go to the show on the nights that Cliff was ill could, however, get their money refunded or book for another night. Cliff was back at the Palladium on Monday 22nd April and the remainder of the season went off well...'

'Today, after eight days of deliberation the jury found Rolf Harris guilty of twelve counts of indecent assault against four girls aged between 7 and 19.

Count 1 : While signing autographs in Hampshire in the late 1960s Harris touched a little girl inappropriately when she was just 7 or 8.


Count 2 : Harris groped a teenage waitress's bottom at a charity event in Cambridge in the 1970s.

Counts 3-9 : A friend of Mr Harris' daughter Bindi, said he repeatedly indecently assaulted her between the ages of 13 and 19.


Counts 10-12 : Tonya Lee, who has waived her right to anonymity, said he abused her three times on one day while she was on a theatre group trip to the UK. The Australian was 15 at the time...'
