Did Cliff Richard Lie...? 

This is to follow on from my August 17th 2019 post, 'Did Cliff Richard Lie In Response To Sex Abuse Allegations?' 

Please read that post to understand the reason for my posting of this transcript from an edition of the television show 'Aspel and Company' that was broadcast in February 1985. 

Basically, the evidence presented here from this TV interview, as well as other documented evidence is completely contradictory to a statement made by Cliff Richard in his February 2015 official public response to the sex abuse claims that had been made against him.

Seated left to right - [sound of audience] Cliff Richard, Twiggy and Bob Carolgees with a puppet dog.

Michael Aspel, voice only [all three guests turn to him]:

Now, Cliff, you had.. you've got three [visual CR] sisters - so, they spoilt you rotten, did they, as a child?

Cliff Richard: 

Oh, I think fortunately I was the eldest in the family. I think if you're gonna be the only [he faces Twiggy / Bob Carolgees] boy, you've gotta be the eldest [smirks] heh, heh.. so, I kind of ruled the roost a bit [looks back at Aspel] but, we got on really quite well.

Michael Aspel:

Were you a tough, nasty little boy?

Cliff Richard:

[interesting body language] No, I wasn't nasty; but, I was fairly shrewd, early on, because my Dad always brought me up to say you must never lay a finger on a woman, never, ever. And, my sister just younger than me, you know, it was our jobs to like if she washed up one day, I'd do the drying up and when I dried, you know, etcetera. And, my Grandad came to live with us and he thought the world of her, so he did all her jobs and she used to come to me going "Ner! Ner! Ner! Ner!" [ugly hand gestures / sound of audience laughter / view of three guests] ..I got, she used to incense me, I mean (??) I, I got [demonstrates with hands] newspaper and I rolled it up and I walloped her like mad, and when my father came home and said, you know "Your sister's crying, have you touched her?" [puts hand up] I said "Never touched her. Never laid a finger on her."

I'd, I'd walloped her with a newspaper.. but, I didn't touch her.
